What Will Our Registry Wedding Cost?
Melbourne Marriage Registry, located at the Victorian Marriage Hub in South Yarra, has been Victoria’s leading independent alternative to the Spring Street Government Marriage Registry for more than 16 years.
Our registry-style wedding ceremonies can be booked in our award-winning ceremony rooms from just one month after lodging your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM). Legal marriage ceremonies are available throughout the year, seven days a week, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
Whether you are planning a simple legal marriage, an intimate elopement, a same-sex wedding, an LGBTQIA+ ceremony or a celebration with up to 35+ guests, we offer a range of all-inclusive ceremony options to suit different budgets and styles.
All ceremony pricing includes your authorised celebrant, legal marriage paperwork, ceremony and use of our elegant South Yarra ceremony rooms.
How Our Pricing Works
There are two separate parts to the marriage process:
Part One – Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) Lodgement
Your initial NOIM lodgement appointment with an authorised celebrant.
NOIM Lodgement Fee: $175
This fee is payable at the time of lodgement and is non-refundable.
Part Two – Your Wedding Ceremony
Your ceremony fee includes your celebrant, ceremony, legal paperwork and use of the ceremony room.

Full payment – in advance – is required at the time of booking your ceremony, in order to secure your preferred wedding date and time.
Early booking is recommended for popular wedding days such as Valentine’s Day, the dates of all the ’26th’ of each month such as 26/11/2026 and New Year’s Eve.
PREMIUM MAX** COSTINGS – INCLUDING the weekends surrounding these major days: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Easter (Friday to Monday), Monarch’s Birthday, Anzac Day, Australia Day Weekend, Chinese New Year’s Eve and New Year, February 29th, Valentine’s day & Valentine’s Weekend, plus the weekend closest to these dates.
*CONDITIONS:
*Varying Cancellation Fees (*this only applies to Part Two of the fee schedule)
~ More than 1 full calendar month before booking @No charge
~ Between 15 to 30 days before ceremony booking @ $220
~ 30+ days or more before the ceremony booking on a Premium Max date @ $350
~ 1 to 31 days before the ceremony booking on a Premium Max date @ Full payment due
~ 1 to 14 days before the ceremony booking on standard bookings @ Full payment due.
~ Late arrival or non-attendance will incur the full booking fee. No refund will be due. A new time will need to be booked – at the appropriate booking fee or cost.
*Note: The Booking fee will be refunded within 7 days of written notice being received by the Melbourne Private Marriage Registry – Victoria, minus the appropriate listed cancellation fee. Receipt of such notice is deemed to be dated from the moment our offices receive the written notice. You will receive immediate confirmation from our offices as soon as this written notice is received.
*The Notice of Intended Marriage Form 13 must be lodged no less than one month before the proposed date of the ceremony, and no more than 18 months from the proposed date of the ceremony.
*All Premium costings include any Public Holidays which are not included in the Premium Max costings.
*All Premium Max costings include Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Easter (Friday to Monday), Queen’s Birthday, Anzac Day, Australia Day, Chinese New Year, February 29th, Valentine’s day & Valentine’s Weekend plus the weekends closest to these dates. Premium Auspicious Dates: All dates falling on the 26th of each month during 2026, then the 27th of each month for 2027, will be charged at the weekend rate.
*A new day is deemed to begin at 6am on each day.
*All first level bookings are made in 30 minute segments. Any extended time in the ceremony rooms is costed in 30 minute increments – except where otherwise stated. Half hour ceremonies are not usually available on Premium dates – except by prior arrangement with the Marriage Victoria bookings officer.
*Late attendance or failure to arrive for a booked ceremony will result in a cancellation of the booked time and the couple will forfeit the full booking fee. The couple will be required to book a new time at the appropriate booking fee or cost.
*All bookings are dependant upon availability. Early booking is recommended for popular wedding days such as Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve.
